Flank Steak & Vegetable Wrap: Paleo

Hello everyone! It is Taylor again! Straight from blondeandambitiousblog.com. Today’s paleo recipe is one of my new all time favorites. Last night, Adam and I made this amazing dish with flank steaks, crispy vegetables and the most amazing red wine sauce. It is SERIOUSLY going to knock your socks off. Might as well just take ’em off now. Let’s do this thing.

Ingredients  (for the steak):

6 thin slices of flank steak

Extra virgin olive oil



Fresh rosemary

1 yellow bell pepper (sliced into strips)

1 orange bell pepper (sliced into strips)

1 medium zucchini (peeled into thin strips)

1 medium onion (thinly sliced)

sesame seeds

Ingredients (for the red wine sauce):

1 tsp extra virgin olive oil

1 large clove garlic, minced

1/4 cup dark balsamic vinegar

2 tbs dry red wine

2 tsp brown sugar

1 tsp rosemary

1/4 cup beef flavored broth



Rub each side of the steak slices with the olive oil and salt/pepper. Top with a pinch of rosemary.

Heat the vegetables until crisp-tender (personal preference), and then season with salt and pepper.

Place the steak flanks on a large skillet and cook until tender.


Remove flanks and place the vegetables vertically on the steaks. Roll up like a wrap and secure with a toothpick.  Rinse and repeat for all six steaks.



  1. Heat the olive oil in a small saucepan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the garlic and cook for a solid minute. It should be fragrant.
  3. Add the balsamic vinegar, red wine, brown sugar and the rosemary. Bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce the heat and simmer (uncovered) for 5 minutes.
  5. Add the broth and bring to a boil again.
  6. Reduce heat again for 15 minutes.

  1. Pour the glaze over the wrapped steaks, top with sesame seeds and serve.


Prep time: 15 min

Cook time: 20 min
